The Making of Dreams by Brian Skoyles
The Making of Dreams by Brian Skoyles

We go through this daft ritual every time we go abroad on a fishing holiday. We throw a coin over the back of the ferry for the “Queen of the Sea” and make a wish for the trip.

Super Stalking... by Brian Skoyles
Super Stalking... by Brian Skoyles

It's May and at last it's starting to warm up. Looking in the log book, and the weather had played a large part in early catches. Some brilliant fish to just over sixty pounds, but also some slow weeks which in the main had coincided with some very cold or wet weather.

The times they are a changing... by Brian Skoyles
The Times They Are A-Changin'... by Brian Skoyles

I’m a lucky fella! I’ve fished Etang Meunier many times, and that in itself makes me very lucky. It’s one of my favourite venues, and I’ve watched it change and develop over the years. In the winter of 08/09 season, as part of essential maintainance and fishery management, Etang Meunier was drained down.

I'll never go fishing in France! by Kevin Green
I'll never go fishing in France! by Kevin Green

"I'll never go carp fishing in France" I once told one of my fishing mates. As a keen-as-mustard teenage carper with time to burn and almost nothing to get in the way of exploring a mass of local lakes, a jaunt across the channel seemed a needless exercise when there was so much to enjoy in Blighty. A lake that's got everything! by Leon Bartropp
A lake that's got everything! by Leon Bartropp

Superb accommodation and brilliant fishing what more could you want, it's both somewhere that you could take the mrs to stay for a week (now that has to be something a bit special doesn't it!) or somewhere you can go with your mates and catch a few.

Etang Meunier by Bill Cottam
Etang Meunier by Bill Cottam

My first trip to Etang Meunier was at the end of April 1999… it was wonderful! Off the top of my head Colin McNeil and I shared a catch of around thirty fish including a good number of twenties and one thirty plus at 31-10.

Fantasy Fishing - Brian Skoyles
Fantasy Fishing. Meunier Style by Brian Skoyles

I've just had one of those weeks, no not a bad one, just the opposite. a week that will stay in my memory for a very long time. Etang Meunier has long been a favourite venue of mine, and I've had some fabulous catches from the lake in the past, but this latest trip takes a week's fishing holiday into the realms of Fantasy fishing.

Filming for Discovery Carp Crew - Brian Skoyles
Filming for Discovery Carp Crew by Brian Skoyles

Towards the end of last year I had a phone call from long time friend Kev Green. Kev was starting work on a new series of Carp Crew for Discovery RealTime and did I want to do a french carping double act? Kev and I have fished together a fair bit over the years, and have travelled to France for an early season holiday several times, so it didn't take much thinking about.
